Why We Strive To Walk In Faith – Abiding Life

Ways to Gain More of God’s Acceptance

Being a minister, sometimes sessions don’t go well and you feel as a failure.  Or, you try to overcome issues and cannot overcome them.  Do you ever feel like you are living a defeated life in Christ trying to walk the faith! I know I have. What are you doing in your Christian walk to gain more of the Lord’s love and acceptance? Do you feel like you have to do something to gain more of His love for you?

Have you been one of those Christians, has done what you know to do through experience and find out it did not work and feel defeated and unacceptable? Are you trying to change what we are, what you do, and your circumstance so you will be more acceptable? Have you tried all the particular methods of programs to change and even felt more unacceptableness or felt as though you are a defeated Christian?

Abiding Life

What is the answer! The answer is not something that we must do but rather something that we must believe! Christian growth is simply accepting what we have always had from the beginning, from the first day we gave our lives to Christ! And this simple life – the victorious life – will be experienced only through the abiding life – Abiding in His Perfect Love 1 John 4:181 John 4:18
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Abundant Life

What is the abiding life? The Lord one day gave me a revelation some years ago that set me free from the walk of striving. Not to say I still wrestle with things. He showed me that there was nothing I could do, or say or perform to gain more of His love or acceptance because He already loved me. He didn’t love me more because I received Him, but had partaken into His promises for me when I accepted Him. His love for us is more than any of us could ever comprehend. Also, there is nothing I could do including sinning that could take away the Love and acceptance He has for me. Yes, when we sin we reap the consequences of sin. The difference between an unbeliever and a believer is that the believer has the promises of eternal life the sinner is separated from Him and is condemned to eternal hell.

Abiding Life

When I accepted God’s love, I became His child. It was His love for us when we were sinners (lost) that he called us to Him – we accepted Him because He had already accepted us. The difference is that the separation from me to Him was removed. The wall from the Holy of Hollies was removed and my relationship with Him was restored.

Again, the abundant life is not something to work for, but rather is something given to be worked from. My acceptance is not based on what I do but rather on what I am. (Acts 17:28Acts 17:28
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

WP-Bible plugin
says, For in him we live, and move, and have our being;) Abundant life does not require that I imitate Jesus, but rather that I participate in His life; it does not require that I work to believe, but that I work because I believe.

How then do I experience this life abundant? How do I discover a life free from sin? And how can it be mine without effort? God’s answer is specifically designed to be within the grasps of the weak, the failure, the unacceptable, the ignorant, the frustrated, and the hopeless. The answer is abiding in Him.

God’s answer to abundant life is simple. The Christian must learn to believe and receive by faith – faith we may not know we possess – not great talent, ability, or intellect. The problem is not that God places on us a great and difficult task to perform in order to experience Him or His peace, rest and joy. The problem is that we place on ourselves these great tasks and standards/acceptance that is higher than God’s. Therefore, we end up struggling because of our own effort to change. We can rest that we are accepted and Loved knowing I don’t have to perform to receive more of His love. Receiving this truth can and will produce rest for you to receive peace and joy in your life. What is holding you back to believe?

A Letter from God

father love letter

A letter from God

When I created the heavens and all the earth, I spoke them into being. When I created man, I formed him and breathed life into his nostrils. But you, woman, I fashioned– after I breathed the breath of
life into man because your nostrils were too delicate. I allowed a deep sleep to come over him, so I could patiently and perfectly fashion you.

Man was put to sleep so that he could not interfere with my creativity. From one bone, I fashioned you. I chose the bone that protects man’s life. I chose the rib, which protects his heart and lungs, and
supports him, as you are meant to do.

only god could love you more

Around this bone, I shaped you. I molded you. I created you perfectly and beautifully. Your characteristics are as the rib – strong, yet delicate and fragile. You proved protection for the most delicate organ in man…..his heart. His heart is the center of his being; his lungs hold the breath of life.

The rib cage will allow itself to be broken before it will allow damage to the heart. Support man as the rib cage supports the body. You were not taken from his feet, to be under him; nor were you
taken from his head, to be above him. You were taken from his side to stand beside him and to be held close to his side.

You are My perfect angel. You are My little girl. You have grown to be a splendid woman of excellence and My eyes fill when I see the virtue in your heart. Your eyes don’t change them. Your lips —how lovely when they part in prayer. Your nose, so perfect in form, your hands, so ge ntle in
touch. I’ve caressed your face in your deepest sleep; I’ve held your heart close to Mine.

Of all the lives and breaths, you are the most like Me. Adam walked with Me in the cool of the day, yet he was lonely. He could not see Me or touch Me. He could only feel Me. So everything I wanted Adam to share and experience with Me, I fashioned in you. My holiness, My strength, My
purity, My love, My protection and support. You are special because you are an extension of me.

Man represents My image, Woman represents My emotions. Together you represent the totality of God. So, Man treat Woman well. Love her; respect her, for she is fragile. In hurting her, you hurt Me.
What you do to her, you do to Me. In crushing her, you damage your own heart, the heart of your Father. Woman, support Man. In humility, show him that you are the rib that protects his inner self

Discovering the Root Of Our Problem

Root Problem – Renewing the Mind

What Blocks You From Trusting God

God’s Word Reveals the Root of Our Problems
Romans 1:25Romans 1:25
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. more: or, rather

WP-Bible plugin
For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator.
Scripture gives us God’s viewpoint of life; therefore, we need to:
  • Learn to address life’s problems and issues from God’s Word
  • Recognize that the bible addresses not only our behaviors, but also our thoughts and beliefs
  • from Scripture, develop correct beliefs about God, self, life and others
  • learn to think as God thinks.

A lie believed as truth will affect your life as if it were true – even though it is a lie.

A belief that… please check what is true

  • Money provides security and happiness ____  results in: workaholism, materialism, greed, dishonesty, stealing
  • To be happy I must be married ____ results in: unrealistic expectations of spouse or friend, unhappiness being single, discontentment with spouse, divorce if unhappy
  • I am the way I am; I can’t change ____ results in: feelings of shame, guilt, hopelessness, inferiority, passivity, loss of creativity
  • Failure deserves to be punished ____ results in: criticalness, judgementalism, self-destructive behavior, fear of failure, procrastination, unwillingness to take risks, fear of punishment
  • The more I do for God, the more He will love and bless me ____ results in: legalistic religious activity, serving God to earn his acceptance, spiritual burnout, feeling unacceptable to God, self-righteousness, spiritual pride
  • My worth is determined by what I do and what other’s think of me ____ results in: driven to succeed, competitive high achiever, comparing self with others, pride – feeling unworthy.
Do you see some patterns about your behavior from wrong beliefs that are opposite of God?
God created us as believing beings.  A belief is an assumption we hold to be true.  We get these beliefs in what we perceive as truth, the lies the enemy (Satan) told you, what others have said (parents, family, school and peers) all have influenced what you believe.  Then develop basic life beliefs about:
  •  who we are
  • whom we can trust
  • what is good or bad
  • what we are worth
  • what our purpose in life is and
  • what God is like
What we belief causes us to process certain information and block other information.  Like a filter, our beliefs causes us to not see the truth and causes a person to go into reaction instead of action.

Not only this, it also affects our relationship with the Lord especially how your earthly father treated you.

Questions:

  1. What problem(s) do you want God to change or resolve in your life?
  2. How is this problem affecting you emotionally?

Examples of common negative thoughts might be – these are based on a Spirit of fear.
Symptoms of fear

  • Fear about the quality of your performance or of problems that may interfere with it;
  • Worry about how the audience or the press may react to you;
  • Worries about how you appear to others, for example, important people – fear of man;
  • A preoccupation with the symptoms of stress;
  • Dwelling on the negative consequences of a poor performance;
  • Self-criticism over less than perfect rehearsal and practice, or
  • Feelings of inadequacy.

List of Negative Thoughts: Check to see if any apply to you.  Think about who made you feel this way, why you think this way and find scriptures to counteract these negative thoughts.

1. I feel like I’m up against the world ____

2. I’m no good ____
3. What can’t I ever succeed? ____
4. No one understands me ____
5. I’ve let people down ____

We Are Created to Be a Friend of God Video

Be Transformed by Renewing Your Mind

The Good News

Through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have a relationship with God the Father. Jesus was sent because the father knew no man can be perfect so he sent his son to forgive us of ALL our sins and live a meaningful life of joy and peace.

Unfortunately, many of us have been hurt, betrayed, used by others and still live miserable and defeated lives without peace and joy.

It is our belief system which still controls the way we live think, feel and choose. Today is the first step how to change these corruptable belief system.

We Were Created to Be a Friend of God

Finding Peace in God

We are complete only when we are in relationship with God:

But some how many of us believed the lie causing tragic separation in man’s relationship with God…. but this did not stop God from loving us.  He will never stop loving you saved or not saved.

The only difference between being saved and not saved is that if you are saved, you become a child of God, a royal priesthood and loved with an everlasting love.  Most of all you get all the benefits and promises and escape eternal death and torment. Not only that, you receive the Love of God through what Jesus demonstrated on the Cross.

Satan is the one who keeps you separated from God by reminding you who hurt you or tries to get you to blame God for your misfortunes.

Remember the story of Adam and Eve!  What caused her to eat from the tree?  Was it because Satan made her believe that God was holding back on her?  Isn’t Satan the accuser of us, God and others?

His purpose is to get you to believe lies to keep you separated and not fulfilling your destiny or high purposes God has for you.

Their sin separted them from the love of God but God never stopped loving them and made a way through his son.

We were all born spiritually dead and separated from God.  When we learn about Jesus and invite Him in our hearts, then we are no longer separated; but the lies we believe from Satan do separate us from the truth.

You see, God took it upon Himself to restsore our relationship with Him through his son.  He had a plan to restore us back to a right relationship with Him.  Eph. 2:4-5Eph. 2:4-5
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, by...: or, by whose grace

WP-Bible plugin

Thank goodness, through Jesus Christ, he gave us life as a payment for the sins of the whole world through Jesus Christ. His perfect sacrifice satisfied the Father because the Father God of Heaven wants a relationship with you.

2 Corinthians 5:192 Corinthians 5:19
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. committed...: Gr. put in us

WP-Bible plugin
“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”

Through Jesus life, death ressurection, we have been totally forgiven by God when we invite Jesus into our hearts.  When we fall short, we have access of the son for our forgiveness of sin.

Col. 2:13-14Col. 2:13-14
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

WP-Bible plugin
“13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

It is a free gift to all who will receive the son through believing and trusting in Jesus.

John 3:17-18John 3:17-18
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Through this we are deeply and unconditionally loved by God

You might have grown up in a conditional loved home but your Heavenly Father loves you unconditionally.  You do not have to work or perform for his love.  He loves you just for who you are.  Remember He created you and you are made in His image.  Rom. 5:8Rom. 5:8
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

God totally and completely accepts you.  This means he accepts you just for who you are.  That means he receives us to Himself with pleasure and responds to us in kindness.

how to find peace with god

If you have not been saved or doubt your salvation, then please watch video and receive Christ in your life and allow Him to wash you clean. Going to church does not get you saved. You must deliberately ask Jesus into your heart.

Step #1 You Must Believe in Jesus

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17John 3:16-17
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Step #2 You Must Confess Your Sins

You must acknowledge that you are a sinner and you want Jesus to wash your sins away. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:91 John 1:9
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Step #3 You Must Repent (Turn away from your sins)

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23Romans 6:23

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come in the Name of Jesus. I thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, into this world to die and for raising Him from the dead so that I can have everlasting life.

I recognize Jesus as my Savior and as the Lord of my life. I repent of my sins and I forgive those who have wronged me. I believe in my heart and I will confess openly my belief in Jesus. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life.

I receive this gift by faith, In Jesus’ name, Amen

Dependence on God Video

Distortion of God’s Love Leads to Problems

Whenever we don’t understand the Gospel in what God did for us through Jesus, our relationship with God is distorted.

We should not look at salvation is a way to escape hell. It should be looked at for a relationship with God through Jesus. When we look at salvation as a free ticket to Heaven results are as follows:

• Continuing to live independently of God
• Neglecting the relationship He wants us to enjoy now; and
• Looking to life’s circumstances and others for our happiness.

Living dependent on God

Isaiah 11:1-5Isaiah 11:1-5
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

11 1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: quick...: Heb. scent or, smell 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. reprove: or, argue 5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, And a branch from his roots will bear fruit. And the Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. And He will delight in the fear of the LORD, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make a decision by what His ears hear; But with righteousness He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth; And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked. Also righteousness will be the belt about His loins, And faithfulness the belt about His waist. (Isaiah 11:1-5Isaiah 11:1-5

As we depend upon the Spirit of God,
He effectively leads us closer to Himself
and makes our lives more fruitful.

Purpose

To make us more conscious of God’s will and increasingly dependent upon the Holy Spirit in all that we do.

We look to God in faith, as totally dependent on him. We are not self-sufficient. We trust him to provide our needs and guide us in life. We have day-to-day security, knowing that an all-powerful God is looking out for us. He knows our needs better than we know our needs, whether for daily bread or for emergency assistance. We do not need to worry, because Dad will take care of us.

We have confidence and courage. We can preach with boldness, without fear of persecution. Even though we may be killed, we do not fear, for we have a Dad no one can take away from us.

We can face our trials with optimism. We know that our Dad allows difficulties to discipline us so we will be better in the long run (Hebrews 12:5-11Hebrews 12:5-11
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. after...: or, as seemed good, or, meet to them 11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

). We are confident that he is working in our lives, that he will not disown us.

The key is how much do we yield our lives to the wonderful Spirit of God. After all, all our lives we have been trained to live with our eyes, ears and minds.

When a person is Spirit–dependent, he will live life differently. He lives in communion with the Father, knowing his identityis in God and not man. How many perform for man to get your needs met but never does.
Second, living dependent, is an awesome experience of feeling loved, His presence of love, knowing you are protected by hearing his voice and also Him sharing the most intimate things with you.

When there is distorted views of God’s love, this still drives you to be independent from God and in performance to man. When God loves and accepts you for who you are.

When you believe what really took place on the cross for you, it changes (transforms you) to a higher life of peace and joy experiencing God. You know you can trust Him in all circumstances and won’t give into the lies of the enemy when things do go wrong. God strengthens you during hard times.

(See Perfect in Knowledge)
“There never was a time in which we were unknown to God, and there never will be a moment in which we shall be beyond His observation…This is a fact to be remembered every moment: sitting down to consider, or rising up to act, we are still seen, known, and read by Jehovah our Lord…Though Thou shouldst give but a glance at my heart, and see me as one sees a passing meteor moving afar, yet Thou wouldst by that glimpse sum up all the meanings of my soul, so transparent is everything to Thy piercing glance….The Lord judges our active life and our quiet life; he discriminates our action and our repose, and marks that in them which is good and also that which is evil. There is chaff in all our wheat, and the Lord divides them with unerring precision…This should fill us with awe, so that we sin not; with courage, so that we fear not; with delight, so that we mourn not….Behind us there is God recording our sins, or in grace blotting out the remembrance of them; and before us there is God foreknowing all our deeds, and providing for all our wants. We cannot turn back and so escape Him, for He is behind; we cannot go forward and outmarch Him, for He is before…Shall we not alter the figure, and say that our heavenly Father has folded His arms around us, and caressed us with His hand? It is even so with those who are by faith the children of the Most High…Such knowledge not only surpasses my comprehension, but even my imagination….Mount as I may, this truth is too lofty for my mind. It seems to be always above me, even when I soar into the loftiest regions of spiritual thought. Is it not so with every attribute of God? Can we attain to any idea of His power, His wisdom, His holiness? Our mind has no line with which to measure the Infinite. ” (CHS)Infinite in understanding

With God “is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” What ever his attributes were of old, they are now …He has ever been the refuge of His people, their stronghold in the day of trouble, and He is their sure Helper still. He is unchanged in his love. He has loved his people with “an everlasting love”; he loves them now as much as ever he did, and when all earthly things shall have melted in the last conflagration, his love will still wear the dew of its youth. Precious is the assurance that He changes not! The wheel of providence revolves, but its axle is eternal love.” (Spurgeon’s full devotional)

Spurgeon “Every affliction is timed and measured. Every comfort is sent with a loving thoughtfulness that makes it precious. The Divine Mind exercises great thoughtfulness toward the Lord’s chosen. Nothing happens as the result of a remorseless fate. All your circumstances are ordered in wisdom by a living, thoughtful, and loving God. Our heavenly Father knows what He is doing. Even when His way appears to be involved and complicated and we cannot untangle the threads, the Lord sees all things clearly. His breadth exceeds the range of our vision; His depth baffles our profoundest thought.”

“Worship should be somewhat like its object –Great praise for a great God. Praise may be said to be great when the song contains great matter, when the hearts producing it are intensely fervent, and when large numbers unite in the grand acclaim. No chorus is too loud, no orchestra too large, no psalm too lofty for the lauding of the Lord of Hosts… Song should be founded upon search; hymns composed without thought are of no worth, and tunes upon which no pains have been spent are beneath the dignity of divine adoration. Yet when we meditate most, and search most studiously we shall still find ourselves surrounded with unknowable wonders, which will baffle all attempts to sing them worthily. The best adoration of the Unsearchable is to own Him to be so, and close the eyes in reverence before the excessive light of His glory. Not all the minds of all the centuries shall suffice to search out the unsearchable riches of God; He is past finding out; and, therefore, His deserved praise is still above and beyond all that we can render to Him.

Spurgeon: “When you are in distress, take a promise and see if it is true. If you have nothing to eat, take this promise: “Bread will be given him, his water will be sure” (Is33:16). When there is nothing in the kitchen, say, “I will see if God will keep this promise.” If He does, do not forget it. Set it down in your diary, or mark it in your Bible. God Forgives Sin

Why We Have Problems Overcoming Sin

Galatians 5:16-17Galatians 5:16-17
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. ye...: or, fulfil not 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

“16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.”

Several reasons why we have problems overcoming sin

1. We are human and sin still indwells in our mortal bodies
2. The mind is still unrenewed in certain areas
3. Our flesh can be stronger than our spirit man – the lust of the world
4. Our emotions control our behavior
5. Satan tempts us just like he tempted Jesus

God knew none of us can ever be perfect within ourselves but we are perfect in Him when we are in the spirit and not in the flesh.

What does that mean. It means He knew how human we are, plus, the adversary is still tempting man until his end comes. Man became separated in the garden when they sinned against God.

God loved us so much that he made a way to bring us back in relationship in Him through Jesus Christ; and through Jesus Christ when we fall or mess up, we have access of forgiveness through Jesus. 1 John 1:91 John 1:9
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

:

For through him [Christ] we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

The Adversary (Satan) will make you believe your sin is too big for God to forgive. Remember in the garden after Adam and Eve fell? They hid behind the tree in fear. They had never felt fear before.

Through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have access to the father through the Son. We can be forgiven for any sin. What you have to do is not believe the lies of the enemy. After you confess your sin to Jesus, you have to receive that you are forgiven and then forgive yourself.

Many times, over the years of ministry, I’ve seen people be stuck in sin because they could not forgive themselves. They were listening to the lies of the enemy believing not the truth.

Then, after Jesus Christ resurrected from the dead, 50 days after, the Holy Spirit was sent to help us. The Holy Spirit is the part that communicates and lets us know through conviction not guilt or shame of our sin.

We need to be fast to ask God’s forgiveness and receiving His forgiveness through His shed blood.

Think about it. If we could be perfect, would God needed to send His son to die on the cross?

So, our goal is to understand God’s love and experience our new identity is to become like Christ (Roman 8:29man 8:29
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

Izbrano poglavje ne obstaja!

WP-Bible plugin
. Also, this is not accomplished by our own activities or our own will. It takes the help of the Holy Spirit to walk in the spirit and it is God who works in us (Eph. 2:13Eph. 2:13
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

).

You might ask that we are made perfect when there is confession of sin. Yes, we are made as new creatures in Him. The adversary is still on earth and still tempts us with sin. Many times we fall into sin and when we do, we can go to Jesus Christ and confess our sin at any time and be made whole and clean. It is like it never happened.

No condemnation in Christ

Romans 12:3-13Romans 12:3-13
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. soberly: Gr. to sobriety 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. giveth: or, imparteth with simplicity: or, liberally 9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; with...: or, in the love of the brethren 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; 12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; 13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

WP-Bible plugin

For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. 4 For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6 Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; 7 if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; 8 or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; 11 not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, 13 contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.

That is why we need to learn how to discern good and evil. Condemnation does not come from God. Condemnation, guilt, shame

Identity in Christ

Finding Your Identity in Christ

Genesis 1:27Genesis 1:27
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

WP-Bible plugin
So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; make and female, He created them.

We are made in the parts – body, soul and spirit. And each work together. When you have a bad thought or unforgiveness in the soul area (the mind), it affects the spirit and body of a person.

He have us a human spirit so that we can relate to Him. If you look at nature around us, many items created by God are in 3 parts. A tree has trunk, roots and leaves.

The soul includes our mind to know God. It is the intellect part of the 3 part which thinks and reasons and makes conclusions and choices in life. The emotions is also tied into the soul area of the mind.

The spirit is the part that communicates with God in the spirit but the enemy is also made up of spirit who also project thoughts in our head. That is why it is important to know who we are in Christ so that you don’t believe the lies of the enemy.

The body, related to the tree, is the part that needs nutrition to survive (food and water). The spirit of man resides in a body. The spirit lives forever but the body dies and goes back to dust. Also the body is the temple of the holy spirit of God.

Your true image is in your soul but many times, as humans, looks at the body to be the image of God.

The cross is the instrument of death for our old nature and identity.  When Christ died, our old sinful nature died with Him.  Rom. 6:6Rom. 6:6
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

Discovering Your Identity in Christ

When we receive Christ, we are given a brand new identity.  Finding your identity in Christ:

Our spirit is now indwelling by God’s spirit:

Finding Your Identity in Christ

When we receive a new identity:

Our body/Soul – temple is filled with the Holy Spirit
Our Mind, will and emitons is being renewed by the empowering of the Holy Spirit
Our Spirit – no longer separated from God but now have the ability to hear and get revelation from God.

Unfortunately, Satan attempts to tempt us by appealing to the memory of the old nature to entice us to walk in our old ways (the flesh) rather than by the Spirit.  His strategy is to deceive us into believing that we have not been changed.

Satan uses the world system to deceive us into believing h is lie as truth.  Especially our past thoughts, past mistakes and past issues.  Through making us believe we are not truly forgiven by throwing guilt, etc.

Only through Christ and through the spirit do we have the power to overcome our past and live in the present and move into the future of His high calling.  He has a plan and a purpose for you to fulfill on earth.

Satan gets you to believe the opposite of God’s Word.  So, who are you going to believe.  What others say about you, what your thoughts (mind and will and emotions) tell you which can deceive you greately.  That is why it is very important to know God’s word and to know who you are through God’s word to discern truth and not believe the lies of the enemy.

Our soul continually needs to be renewed with truth and filled with God’s spirit (Rom. 12:1-2Rom. 12:1-2
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

12 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
